A workshop on astrophotography and image processing was held at St. Xavier's seminar hall on Sunday, 15th November 2009. The workshop was jointly organized by Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) and the department of physics of St. Xavier's college. It was a half day workshop in association with "The world at night (TWAN)".

There were almost 120 participants including students, teachers, journalists and other enthusiastic personnel. During the program, Mr. Babak Tafreshi, director of TWAN and Mr. Oshin, an astrophotographer (TWAN) presented their talk and showed different cameras and their techniques for taking night sky snaps. Participants found the program very informative and learnt many things about astrophotography.
