We are pleased to announce the call for nomination (self) for the 4th NASO Women in Science Award 2020 (WiSA2020). WiSA is a program started in 2017 and run by Women in Astronomy Nepal (WIAN) an initiative within Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) providing a platform for women working in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The award is distributed into two categories: Student and Professional
Who can apply?
Any Nepali women staying/working in Nepal or abroad who are currently a university student or working professionally are eligible to apply for the award.
How to apply?
Registration is now available at www.nepalastronomicalsociety.org/wian until August 23, 2020. Interested candidate can visit the site and fill the form available.
What will be provided in awards?
The awardees receive cash prizes, trophies and certificates at a special function at Kathmandu by December 2020. The student category winner will receive NRs. 15,000/- (Fifteen Thousand Nepali Rupees), trophy and certificate. The professional category will receive NRs. 25,000/- (Twenty Five Thousand Nepali Rupees), trophy and certificate.

WiSA has been getting popular in the region as we are receiving international application as well. We will soon expand this award at regional level.
