‘चौथो नासो विज्ञानमा महिला पुरस्कार २०२०’ को नतिजा सार्वजनिक

सन २०२० मा सञ्चालित ‘चौथो नासो विज्ञानमा महिला पुरस्कार २०२०’ को व्यवसायिक तथा विद्यार्थी विधामाको निर्णय नतिजा सार्वजनिक गदछौं । देश तथा विदेशबाट प्राप्त ५० आवेदकमध्ये अन्तिम १८ प्रतियोगीहरुलाई निर्णायकज्यूहरुले मुल्यांकन गर्नुभएको थियो भने ‘पब्लिक च्वाईस अवार्ड’ को लागि प्रतियोगीहरुको भिडियो प्रस्तुती नेपाल एष्ट्रोनोमिकल सोसाईटी (नासो) को अधिकारिक युट्युब च्यानल मार्फत् सार्वजनिक गर्दै जनमत

 संकलन गरिएको थियो।

छ सदस्यीय निर्णायक टोलीमा रही प्रतिस्पर्धीहरुको आवेदनलाई मुल्याङ्कन गरी कार्यक्रमलाई सहयोग गर्नुहुने विज्ञहरू प्रति नेपाल एष्ट्रोनोमिकल सोसाईटी (नासो) हार्दिक धन्यवाद व्यक्त गर्न चाहन्छ।

विजेताहरुलाई पुरस्कार यही माघ २९ गते ‘विज्ञानमा महिला पहुँचको अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय दिवस ( International Day of Women and Girls in Science)’ को अवसर परेर वितरण गर्ने तयारी रहेको कुरा जानकारी गर्दछौं। अवार्डलाई यो बर्ष लोटस होल्डिङ्सले मुख्य–प्रायोजन गर्दैछ। अवार्डसम्बन्धी थप जानकारीको लागि हाम्रो कार्यालयमा संपर्क गर्नुहोला।

आठौं राष्ट्रीय एस्ट्रोनोमी ओलम्पियाड लोगो प्रतियोगिता

आठौं राष्ट्रीय एस्ट्रोनोमी ओलम्पियाडको पुर्व तयारी स्वरुप यहि माघ १९ गतेसम्म लोगो आह्वान गर्दछौं। प्रतियोगितामा उत्कृष्ट हुने लोगोले  रु. पांच हजार तथा प्रमाणपत्र प्राप्त गर्नेछन्। साथै उक्त लोगो “आठौं राष्ट्रीय एस्ट्रोनोमी ओलम्पियड २०२१“ को औपचारिक लोगो हुनेछ। राष्ट्रीय एस्ट्रोनोमी ओलम्पियाड सम्बन्धि नेपाली समाजमा जनचेतना कार्यक्रम अन्तर्गत सन् २०१३ देखि प्रत्येक वर्ष लोगो प्रतियोगिता आयोजना गरिदैं आएको हो।

नेपाल एष्ट्रोनोमिकल सोसाईटीले एस्ट्रोनोमी ओलम्पियाडमा विद्यालय तहका प्रतिस्पर्धी विद्यार्थी मात्र नभई अन्य सबै तहका महानुभावहरूको सहभागिता होस् भन्ने हेतुले हरेक वर्ष ओलम्पियाडको लोगो प्रतिस्पर्धा गराउदै आएको छ। यसै अनुरुप आठौं राष्ट्रिय एस्ट्रोनोमी ओलम्पियाडको लागि आजबाट आवेदन खुला गरिएको छ। प्रतियोगितामा हालसम्म कपिल रोकाया, योन्जन जेन्सुन, सन्दिप तिवारी, सम्राट राई, सफल श्रेष्ठ, रेमन बाला तथा सुनिल खड्गीले विजेताको उपाधि हासिल गरिसकेका छन्।

प्रतियोगिता सम्बन्धि नियमहरूः

• लोगोमा निम्न विषयवस्तुहरू झल्किनु पर्नेछः खगोल विज्ञान, शिक्षा, नेपाल र “आठौं राष्ट्रीय एस्ट्रोनोमी ओलम्पियड २०२१”
  
• आवेदन निःशुल्क छ तर एक व्यक्तिले बढीमा तीन लोगो पेश गर्न सक्नेछन्।
  
• डिजाइन आफ्नै मूल विचार र सिर्जना हुनुपर्दछ।
  
• लोगो ६००/६०० पिक्सेलको आकारमा हुनुपर्छ।
  
• डिजाइनरले आफ्नो लोगोको बढीमा ५० शब्दहरूमा वर्णन गर्नुपर्छ। बिना विवरणको डिजाइन मूल्याङ्कन गरिने छैन।

Are you ready to witness the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn tonight?

If you are an astronomy enthusiast, you must be following Jupiter and Saturn coming closer this week and becoming one (for naked eye observers) this week! Tonight the two giant planets will be so closed that they will 0.1 degree apart making the exceptional astronomical scene southwestern horizon after the sunset. Are you ready to observe it ?

For a naked eye observer, the planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn has provided great deal of information so that they can track these planets in the night sky and prepare planetary almanac. It was only in 17th century when Galileo Galilei pointed his telescope to the sky to observe the sun (our nearest star), planets and other celestial objects when much of the beauty of these distance objects became available for people to enjoy such as the famous Galilean Moons of Jupiter!

If you have a binoculars or a telescope, the view can be exceptional as you can see both planets in a the eyepiece. If you are planning to capture the great moment through your camera, make sure you keep your photography station steady and use telephoto lens if possible.

How to observe the great conjunction tonight?

• Find a spot with an unobstructed view of the southwestern sky, nearby your house, it should be your rooftop or a open space nearby
• After the sunset, look to the southwestern sky, you will see a star-like object for our eyes which is actually Jupiter and Saturn together refer to simulation above)
• If you have binoculars or a small telescope, you may be able to see Jupiter’s four large moons orbiting the giant planet and Saturn's ring!

Note: Please don't forget to wear mask and sanitize yourself regularly if you are gathering for the observation. You should also put an effort to maintain physical distancing as possible.

We will be hosting a private star party at our office today from 5:00 PM- 6:30 PM accessible for our members (with preapproval) due to COVID-19 situation. Members joining must wear mask all the time and sanitize themselves while attending the interaction cum observation session this evening at our Office!
