NASO team coordinated by Founder Vice President of NASO and Research Student of Astrophysics, TU, Mr. Sudeep Neupane along with Espro Foundation reached Bhawani Vidhyapeeth (higher secondary school), Phalebas, Parbat for an outreach on 13th Nov, 2010. The four member team (Sudeep Neupane, Suresh Bhattarai & Rijendra Thapa from NASO and Prabodh Pravakar Risal from Espro Foundation/Eureka High School) organized a Training on “How to find Polestar?” for school students from four near by secondary schools. Mr. Sudeep Neupane presented a talk on “Observation Guide to Astronomy” especially encouraging students for naked eye observation and with demonstrations of equipments used to observe, sky maps, and softwares. Students participated in solar observation through solar filters and then enjoyed the movie clips of “Eyes on the Sky” and “Hubble”.

The day programme was successful to create an interest but the observation session was ruined by cloudy night sky. Very few chances grasped to observe moon in between the clouds.
The outreach team organized a short meeting with teachers about the practical teaching methods on science. Mr. Prabodh Pravakar Risal (President-Espro Foundation, Principal-Eureka High School, Kathmandu) presented his experiences and explained the practical science teaching methods. Mr. Sudeep Neupane shared the idea of Galileo Teachers Trainning Programme (One of the cornerstone project of IYA2009) to prepare well trained teachers around the Globe. The whole programme was facilitated by Social Activist and President of School Management Committee of Bhawani Vidhyapeeth, Mr. Bhola Nath Sharma.
